Loncian i Landdwyn

A’r Noson Santes Dwynwen casglodd tyrfa fawr yng Nghae Sgwâr Aberaeron i weld penllanw deuddeg diwrnod o weithgareddau sydd wedi bod yn destun siarad trwy’r dre! Fe osododd plant Dysgu Sylfaen yr ysgol her i’w hunain i ‘Loncian i Landdwyn’ ar y diwrnod arbennig hwn. Cyfanswm y milltiroedd oedd angen eu cyflawni oedd 113, sef y milltiroedd o Aberaeron i Ynys Llanddwyn. Tipyn o her! Erbyn 4.30yp roedd y lle yn llawn bwrlwm gyda’r cae wedi’i oleuo a miwsig yn atsain trwy’r dre! Gosodwyd trac ar ffurf calon yng nghanol y cae ac mi oedd yn olygfa arbennig i weld hyd yn oed plant y dosbarth meithrin yn ymdrechu’n galed i gwblhau’r her gyda chefnogaeth eu rhieni, teuluoedd a’u hathrawon. Dros y deuddeg diwrnod cyn hynny fe ryddhawyd fideos yn ddyddiol ar gyfryngau cymdeithasol yr ysgol ac ar dudalen Facebook ‘Straeon Aberaeron’ a oedd yn hyrwyddo’r digwyddiad yn defnyddio unigolion o’r gymuned. Gwelwyd amrywiaeth o unigolion o’r ficer i’r cynghorydd lleol a’r maer ynghyd â llawer o bobl fusnes y dref yn gwneud campau digon rhyfedd a ddenodd ddiddordeb anhygoel gan y cyhoedd. Mae’n werth chi gael golwg arnynt! Dyma beth oedd digwyddiad a unodd y gymuned gyfan gan godi arian at yr ysgol a chreu brwdfrydedd a hwyl yng nghanol mis Ionawr digon diflas. Diolch i Bwyllgor Gwelliannau Aberaeron am eu cymorth a’r Clwb Pêl-droed am fenthyg y llifoleuadau.

On evening of ‘Santes Dwynwen’ a large crowd gathered at Aberaeron Square Field to see the culmination of twelve days of activities that have been the talk of the town! The school’s Foundation Learning children set themselves a challenge to ‘Loncian i Landdwyn’ on this special day. The total number of miles that needed to be covered was 113, which is the distance from Aberaeron to Llanddwyn Island. Quite a challenge! By 4:30pm the place was buzzing with the field lit up and music echoing through the town. A heart shaped track was laid in the middle of the field and it was a special sight to see even the nursery class trying hard to complete the challenge with the support of their parents, families and teachers. Over the twelve days before that videos were released daily on the school’s social media and on the ‘Streaon Aberaeron’ Facebook page which promoted the event using individuals from the community. A variety of individuals from the vicar to the local councillor and the mayor along with many of the town’s business people were seen doing quite strange antics which attracted incredible interest from the public. It’s worth checking them out. This was an event that united the whole community, raising money for the school and creating enthusiasm and fun in the middle of a rather boring January. Thanks to the Aberaeron Improvements Committee for their help and the Football Club for lending the floodlight.
